yd013 WILCZY SZANIEC "Wideo mondo" LP
Wilczy Szaniec a.k.a. wSzaniec was created by two close friends in 2008 in Cracow, Poland. The band quickly released a demo tape "Centrum Zdrowia Dziecka" and started playing gigs around the country. The second demo "Grytwiken" was released by the band itself some half year later, around the end of 2009. At the beginning of the 2010 Blinded Records re-released both of the aforementioned demos on one cassette tape entitled "Wideo mondo". Currently the band consist of three people.
The music played by Wilczy Szaniec can be described as a sort of hypnotic noise punk, with some disturbing undercurrents and loads of energy at the same time. While their songwriting bears some influence of the Polish bands from the middle 80's and early 90's, the songs themselves are definitely unique. Wilczy Szaniec is a "slavic punk" in the best sense of the word.
"Wideo mondo" 12" is the first vinyl release of the band, and it includes all the songs form "Centrum Zdrowia Dziecka" demo MC and "Grytwiken" demo CD-R. The record was co-released by four Polish diy labels: Blinded Records, No Sanctuary, Teeth To Concrete, Yama Dori and the band itself.
